Rewion is a consulting firm committed to sustainability and digital transformation. As part of their mission to reduce the environmental impact of IT infrastructure, they partnered with Ishango to develop a data-driven solution that helps organisations estimate the carbon footprint of their devices.
The Challenge
Companies often lack reliable, scalable tools to measure the embodied and operational emissions of IT hardware. Rewion wanted to address this gap—starting with laptops—by using machine learning to predict Global Warming Potential (GWP) based on specifications and usage.
The Ishango Approach
Ishango’s team built a comprehensive dataset of device specs and environmental factors, trained multiple predictive models, and deployed the best-performing solution as a cloud-based API. The tool allows users to input laptop details and receive real-time carbon footprint estimates.
The Result
The solution gave Rewion and their clients a scalable way to inform procurement and sustainability strategies—bringing data into every decision.
