2022 Highlights

In 2022, we made great strides toward our mission of creating high-quality jobs in Africa and showcasing the wealth of data science talent in Africa. We could not have done it without your support. As we launch into the new year, we wanted to look back at the impact you’ve collectively helped us make.

  • We welcomed 2 cohorts of Data scientists from 7 countries across Africa, providing them with hands-on project experience and mentorship.
  • We delivered data science projects for six international host companies, including Phastar, Africa Practice, Elder Research Inc, Fyffes, PMI and Barry Callebaut.
  • We partnered with an online learning platform, Dataquest, to offer 400 scholarships to enable aspiring data scientists across Africa to build their skills. 50% of these scholarships were dedicated to supporting female data scientists.
  • We hosted our #DataSheroes – Conversations with Women in Data Science webinar in partnership with dLab Tanzania and had our work featured by the Digital Skills Accelerator Africa (DSAA).

Looking ahead to 2023

In the current economic climate, our work has become even more critical.

For talent in Africa, finding job opportunities has become more challenging, while for companies, accessing good talent while managing tight budgets is a priority now more than ever.

We are therefore starting 2023 with renewed vigour to support more talented African data scientists to find opportunities and help global companies meet their data science project needs.
