Empowering Africa’s Data Science Community Through DataCamp Partnership

In 2023, we partnered with DataCamp to further our mission of fostering data science talent in Africa. DataCamp provided 100 scholarships to learners, enhancing skill development and access to quality learning resources. We hosted check-in sessions throughout the year and spotlighted our top learners, further promoting skill development and exposure to advance their careers. 

Here’s what one of our scholarship recipients had to say: “Inspired by the knowledge gained from taking courses on DataCamp, my friends and I founded a startup to address a pressing medical issue: automating medical records. We integrated AI to streamline patient record summaries and identify critical issues within the healthcare sector. My goal is to apply the skills acquired through this scholarship to a meaningful cause, contributing to solving significant problems that impact our daily lives.” Mansour’s testimonial embodies the impact of this partnership and highlights how skills acquired through DataCamp can drive meaningful change, contributing to solving pressing problems.

By providing scholarships, Ishango.ai and DataCamp have opened doors for aspiring data scientists to acquire essential knowledge and skills, empowering them to succeed in the data industry and make meaningful contributions to their communities. Already, many recipients of this scholarship are making significant strides.
